Browne, Jacobs, and Vuitton riding, “The Darjeeling Limited.”

The movie “The Darjeeling Limited,” not only one of my favorites, also pays homage to some of the most noted menswear designers. Designer Thom Browne’s brilliant shrunken suits are worn by each of the main characters with such tailored ease.

Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, and Adrien Brody wearing Thom Browne.
My favorite part, is the numbered Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton hand painted suitcases each of the character schlep across the beautiful foliage of India.

Hand painted by Eric Anderson, Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton 11 piece luggage set.
What a great, smart, and witty movie with undertones of luxury fashion. Check this one out at your local Blockbuster.
Cheers!
ps Wes Anderson also directed “The Royal Tenenbaums,” another must see if not only for the come back of the Adidas track suits!!!

Great looking blog Jess! It is the perfect blog for any post-modernist’s repertoire!
hello jessica, “The Darjeeling Limited” was very humorous yet, had great scenes of how we deal with our tragedy in different ways across cultures. Fashion statements of American brothers was dealt with such interesting ways. It was symbolic that they throw away all luggages at the end. I think that it means that they got rid of all their baggage of their life by being freed by conformity of one culture. I also enjoyed this movie very much! Love, Junhie
I love your point of the luggage and how it symbolizes freedom from conformity!
